CHF Summit 2021: Shifting Gears

BIG IDEAS FORUM

ARE YOU A CONSUMER WITH AN IDEA TO CHANGE THE WAY HEALTHCARE IS DELIVERED? OR TO FIX A HEALTH SYSTEM PROBLEM?

We are inviting you to send in videos of your ideas for innovation in health, to be part of the Big Ideas Forum at our CHF Shifting Gears Summit in March 2021. Entries will close in mid-November.

Your big idea could be something totally new, or it might be something that has worked well in your community that could be expanded or tried in other places. You may like to base your idea on one or more of the key shifts highlighted in CHF's 2018 White Paper Shifting Gears: Consumers transforming health.

We're asking you to submit your 'Big Idea' video with an easy-to-use App, Cinefly. Winners will share your Big Idea in the 'Big Ideas Forum, an online event at the CHF Summit hosted by Ellen Fanning* from ABC TV's The Drum.

The best ideas will also be promoted through CHF’s advocacy work.

Here's how you can share your Big Idea to transform the health system:
  1. Your idea is ambitious, transformational and achievable. Remember we are focussing on BOTH what shifts are needed and how they can be achieved.
  2. See the guidelines below on how to present your idea.
  3. Download the Cinefly app. Cinefly makes it easy for you film yourself and automatically edits your video. (Instructions on how to use the App are below.)
  4. Grab a friend to film you and submit it through Cinefly. The competition closes mid-November
  5. Remember to film in landscape not portrait mode.

HOW DO I ENTER?

Your one minute video should be submitted through the Cinefly App;

To tell us about your big idea, your video should be in the following format:

  • Introduction: Tell us your name and where you are from. (4 seconds)
  • My big idea: In one or two sentences explain what your idea is. (10 seconds)
  • The problem: Briefly describe the issue that you are trying to address with your big idea. (10 seconds)
  • The solution: This is your chance to expand on your idea. (30 seconds)
  • The outcome: Wrap up by telling us how your big idea is set to change things. (15 seconds)
These guidelines also appear in the App to remind you how to record your video.

CINEFLY APP

Cinefly is a platform which lets you as a consumer co-create video content with CHF. We have designed a storyboard for the app which lays out the format described above, making it simple and easy for you to create your video.

If you make a mistake or you are not happy with one section of your video, simply shoot it again. Once you are happy with all the shots, the app will edit the video together and submit it straight to the competition.

The App includes Director’s Guides to give you tips about lighting and shooting your video and reminds you what the purpose of each shot is.

Download Cinefly: Once you’ve downloaded the Cinefly mobile app, select the profile icon in the top right corner of the Cinefly app, then select project codes and enter the project code: CHF. Return to the main area of the App and you will now see the Big Ideas Storyboard which will guide you through making your video.

If you like, you can also enter project code intro, which will allow you to view a simple how-to guide for using Cinefly.

TIPS AND TRICKS
  • Get a friend to film you. It is an easy way to ensure that you are always in shot and it can be fun!
  • Downloading the Cinefly app, editing the video and uploading the video will all require data usage. We recommend you do these parts while connected to WiFi. The App does not use data while shooting video. You can select “only upload projects while on WiFi” from the settings.
  • If you don’t have access to WiFi at home, consider using publicly available WiFi such as at your local library.
  • Use the directors guide on each shot to get tips about how to shoot your video. The director’s guide can be accessed by swiping down or selecting the director’s deck chair icon while within a shot.
